Wanda Zimmermann: Contrasting Spaces

In 2022, emerging artist Wanda Zimmermann presented her work in the group exhibition Contrasting Spaces, organized by the Neuzeit Collective, of which she was a member until 2023. The exhibition provided a compelling insight into Zimmermann’s artistic evolution and her ability to visually interpret complex themes.

Zimmermann’s contributions stood out for their expressive brushwork and bold use of color. Working primarily with acrylic on watercolor paper or canvas, she explored the interplay between opposing spaces—visibility and obscurity, the public and the private. Her dynamic and abstract compositions invited viewers to engage with these dualities on a deeper level.

Through her fluid and spontaneous painting technique, Zimmermann created an openness that encouraged multiple interpretations, offering new perspectives on spatial contrasts.

The Neuzeit Collective, known for its innovative approach to supporting young artists, curated a multisensory experience by combining visual art with music. Within this interdisciplinary setting, Zimmermann’s ability to translate her artistic vision across different creative spheres became particularly evident.
